Brandon's Cancer Wars

On March 15, 2012 Spokane lost a very special boy. Brandon Bird-Chastain lost his battle to cancer. Born happy and healthy to his mother JoLynn Chastain. At 18 months Brandon was diagnosed with Sensory Integration Dysfunction (SID) and began attending the Spokane Guild School. From there, he attended Bryant School for two years and then on to Linwood Elementary where he continued on to the 4th grade. Brandon was also attending The Achieve Center for additional help with his special needs. At age 4, Brandon was diagnosed with Cancer. The tumor is called Embryonal RhabdomyoSarcoma, was located in head, ALL three times he battled it. Being a true Star Wars fan, he never gave up and fought right up to the end (and then some). He is preceded in death by his great- grandmother, “Vic”. He leaves behind his mother JoLynn Chastain; grandparents, Hal and LaDonna Moore; great-grandfather, Bob Arnold Sr.; his best friend and cousin, Dakotah Chastain; his dog Maggie (aka Magalicious) and a large extended family that includes many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Brandon is an amazing boy, who has taught people the meaning of bravery, strength, courage, family, wealth, happiness and love. “THE FORCE WAS STRONG WITH THIS ONE…” In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to GUCoachesvsCancer.com or Coaches vs Cancer c/o ACS, 920 N. Washington, Spokane, WA 99201. A Celebration of Brandon’s life will be held, Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 4:00PM at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home 2203 N. Division. This is a benefit for Brandon Bird-Chastain, we are having a silent auction with some great stuff donated by the Spokane Chiefs, Spokane Indians, Gonzaga, and a few other great companies.  We will also be holding raffle drawings throughout the day for some great gift cards/ prizes.  Also included all you can eat tacos for $5.00 and great beer specails with all procedes going to Brandon and his family!  Come one come all, this will be an all ages event!  Hope to see you all there!
